Determination of Particulate Matter in Stack Gases
TCEQ Method 23 is used to determine particulate matter emission rates by removing the particulate matter isokinetically from the source and collecting it on a heated glass fiver filter, in the probe and nozzle wash, and from the first impinger. This matter is then measured gravimetrically. This method is applicable for the determinations of PM emissions from stationary sources where sample port is large enough for the sample nozzle. This applies for stack samples of particulate matter where no sulfur dioxide, sulfur trioxide, or sulfuric acid are present.
